Dry Needling
A treatment that involves inserting a thin needle (often the size of a hair) into a muscle that typically contains a Trigger Point (“knot” in the muscle). The patient often feels a sensation much like a muscle cramp that last a few seconds to a few minutes. Afterwards the muscle is often sore, similar to after a workout, for 1-2 days. But the patient experiences increased range of motion, decreased pain, and increased strength soon after the treatment.
